Backend Developer

LOCATION: Yerevan, Armenia

JOB DESCRIPTION:

We’re looking for an experienced Backend Developer (Laravel/PHP) to join our team and help us build and maintain multiple projects. In this role, you will be working directly with the team lead and collaborating with our frontend developers to deliver high-quality APIs and backend logic.

This is NOT a junior position – we need someone who can take ownership of tasks, think independently, and deliver working solutions without micromanagement.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

– Building & maintaining RESTful APIs using Laravel (8+ or 10)
– Working with databases (MySQL/PostgreSQL) and writing optimized queries
– Handling authentication & authorization (Passport, Sanctum, JWT)
– Refactoring & improving existing backend code (where needed)
– Debugging, profiling & optimizing backend performance
– Integrating third-party APIs (e.g., Stripe, external services)
– Writing clean, maintainable, and scalable code following best practices

QUALIFICATIONS:

– University degree in Computer Science or a related field;
– 3+ years of experience with PHP & Laravel framework
– Experience with REST APIs and integrating frontend applications
– Solid knowledge of databases (MySQL/PostgreSQL, migrations, indexes, queries)
– Good understanding of caching, queues & job processing (Redis, Horizon, Laravel Queues)
– Experience with version control (Git) and working in collaborative environments
– Ability to work independently and take responsibility for backend tasks
– Proficiency in English (for technical discussions & documentation)
– Have experience with Docker/Kubernetes
– Have worked with message brokers like RabbitMQ/Kafka
